Adafruit is currently seeking to add a Facilities Coordinator to our team. This is a full-time position, on site, at our Adafruit New York location.

The primary responsibilities of this position are the upkeep and augmentation of Adafruit's facilities. The specifics within can come in many forms, some of which being maintenance, construction, layout design, building management communication/collaboration, equipment ordering/assembly, and data input to name a few.

Adafruit Industries LLC was founded in 2005 by MIT engineer Limor "Ladyada" Fried. Her goal was to create the best place online for learning electronics and making the best designed products for makers of all ages and skill levels. Adafruit manufactures many of our own products right here in our NYC factory where we have approximately 80+ employees.

Facilities Coordinator

The ideal candidate should possess the following traits & skills:

  • Experience in construction, construction planning, warehouse or factory work. Previous experience within a Facilities role is preferred, but not required

  • Ability to be on one's feet for a majority of the day and lift boxes weighing up to 50lbs

  • Tools & hardware handling/knowledge

  • Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Experience with negotiation

  • Punctual, ability to prioritize overlapping tasks, able to communicate clearly

  • Must be flexible, dependable, and able to work independently

  • Proficient with Google Suite or related software

 

Some additional traits we're looking for (but not required):

  • Experience in workplace safety training and management

  • Experience with CAD software

  • Comfortable working with NYC Department of Buildings, permits, contracts & invoices
