Sensors / Barometric Pressure

We carry a variety of sensors to measure barometric air pressure, useful when you want to know about the weather or to determine altitude. The air thins out the higher we get above sea level. As we travel from below sea level to a high mountain, the air pressure decreases. That means that if we measure the pressure we can determine our altitude - handy when we don't want the expense or size of a GPS unit.

Weather can also be estimated with barometric pressure - low pressure means a storm is heading our way. For accessibility uses, these can also be used as sip/puff detectors. And of course, pressure sensors can also be used to measure air pressure inside a sealed container.

Most of our barometric pressure sensors also have temperature sensing built in, some have humidity sensing as well. Most of the sensors we have are for ambient pressure sensing, but we also stock some sensors with ports that can be used to attach a tube.
