  1. Looks almost like the Korg Monotron. The lower panel looks like a VCO circuit heading in to the "MIX/HPF". Good eyes to whoever figured this out!

  2. FYI the comic is Batman and Robin #34 that was released Wednesday August 20th.

  3. It’s from page 9 of the service manual for the Roland MKS-30 rackmount polyphonic synthesizer (ca. 1983-84.) The Batsection called up by Batman up on the Batscreen displays the voice mixer, which combines the audio signals from each of the 6 voice circuits via TL072 family op-amp. The resulting signal is fed through a high-pass filter (HPF), a simple RC circuit to bleed off high frequencies, user controllable via 100k potentiometer (“Brilliance” control.)

    Strangely, while the more common Roland JX-3P keyboard uses the same design, the service manual for that synth was apparently drawn by a difference tech and the schematic for the above circuit was drawn in an entirely different manner.
