Siri hacked to control real-world thermostat – the “internet of things” can talk… plamoni writes -
A demonstration of a proxy for Siri that I wrote. It allows me to control my thermostat when I am at home. Doesn’t require a jailbreak or anything, since it’s all going on off the device. For more information (including the source code), check the GitHub project: https://github.com/plamoni/SiriProxy
Siri Proxy is a proxy server for Apple’s Siri “assistant.” The idea is to allow for the creation of custom handlers for different actions. This can allow developers to easily add functionality to Siri. It responds to commands such as, “What’s the status of the thermostat?”, or “Set the thermostat to 68 degrees”, or even “What’s the inside temperature?”
This is fantastic and glimpse of what is to come.Related
