All I can say is that it’s a good thing he has that nylon drapery there to protect him.
There seem to be a couple of words missing from the title –
Doesn’t have nearly enough power, the partial lifting he gets is from the blades being so close to the ground. He needs about twice as much lift to actually be able to stay at any reasonable height. Part of what shows this is the way that when it tilts it slams back to the ground as air pressure between the blades and ground is spilled.
Also, with a design with a high center of gravity relative to the blades, keeping it level is an issue. Most copter type designs have all the weight suspended well below the blades, and this makes them self leveling. This could possibly be fixed with something like tilt sensors and a fast feedback system adjusting throttles to balance, if you had the power to get farther off the ground. It wouldn’t be as much of an issue if the blades were 6 feet off the ground, well above the pilot, but then you’d lose some of the ground effect and the illusion that he’s almost flying.
