  1. Electronics move so fast, this book was published in 1989, and wikipedia says that the 3rd edition coming by January 2011, is that true, i don’t know but is this book still up to date ?

  3. @bob – they’ve been saying there is a third edition coming for almost 10 years, we know for a fact it’s not coming out in the next year.

I have to say this is one of the best books on electronics there is, I have two copies from when it first came out (managed to inherit one when my last place closed down), so I can’t comment on the additions for the 2nd edition. It is packed with useful circuits, hints and tips and exercises based on common pitfalls. I wouldn’t say it was a beginners book but one for the slightly more experienced, especially as it’s aimed at University students but it’s light on the maths and emphasises the “back of the envelope” style of design.
