  2. Whee! A good old relaxation oscillator. These also make nice ‘fireflies’ outdoors on a summer night.
    A bunch of common 9V batteries connected together in series will make a good substitute for the obsolete battery specified here.

  4. Two 9V batteries won’t work in this case. You need at least 90V to light up a neon bulb. That is why here are used two 67,5Volt batteries.
