How much does AdaBox cost?
AdaBox costs $60 per quarter. This cost includes free shipping (UPS Ground only) to the continental United States. A $5 shipping fee will be applied on orders shipping to Alaska, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. A $10 shipping fee will be applied on orders shipping to Canada. A $30 shipping and customs fee will be applied to orders shipping to available locations in Europe

All skill levels! We've tried to choose products from the Adafruit catalog that we think are great for people just starting out but also interesting enough for our more advanced users. While our AdaBox tutorials will be geared towards beginners, there are also tons of tutorials on our Learn System that you can use products from your AdaBox to make!
Do I need to know how to solder?
Nope! We've made sure that all of the items inside AdaBox will come with headers already soldered on.

Can I choose where to start my AdaBox subscription?
Nope! When you sign up for AdaBox, the first box you'll receive is the next box we're sending out. You cannot start your subscription with earlier boxes. How do I reset my password?
To reset your password for your Adafruit account, visit this page: https://accounts.adafruit.com/users/password/new
You must enter the email address you used to sign up for your account on adafruit.com. A new password will be sent to that address.
How can I change the email address on my account?
To change the email address associated with your account, please log into your account on adafruit.com and click the "My Account" button in the top right corner of the site. You'll be able to edit your profile there. Please remember to click the "save settings" button once you are finished.
How do I change the shipping address assocaited with my subscription?
To manage the addresses associated with your subscription click the “Subscription” button while logged into your Adafruit account. Next, select "Manage your AdaBox subscription" and under the Shipping Address listed click "change". From the addresses listed there, please select the one you would like to use for your subscription. Don't see your preferred address as an option? Click the "My Account" button on the top right corner of the site then click ”Addresses" on the list on the left hand side and you will have options to edit, delete, or add a new address. Once you have added your preferred address to your Adafruit account click “Subscription” then click "Manage your AdaBox subscription" and under the Shipping Address listed click "change". From the addresses listed there, please select the one you would like to use for your subscription.
How do I change the credit card associated with my subscription?
To manage the credit card associated with your subscription click the “Subscription” button while logged into your Adafruit account. Next, select "Manage your AdaBox subscription" and scroll down to “Payment Method” where you can click “change”. Select the “Add A New Credit Card” option and enter your preferred card information.
How do I purchase a subscription?
It's simple! Just click the ‘Get Started' button on https://www.adafruit.com/adabox
and follow the instructions.
Adabox ships quarterly. Navigate to https://www.adafruit.com/adabox or to My Account/Subscriptions/Manage your AdaBox subscription to see when the next round of AdaBox will start to ship. Please note, this is not a guaranteed shipping date for your box specifically. Once your order ships we will send you a tracking number via email.

Sure! A brief period after the AdaBox is sent out to subscribers, we'll try to have it available on the Adafruit store. That being said, we can't guarantee the same AdaBox subscriber experience - so the appearance, exclusives, and subscriber-only discounts might not be included - but if you want to get a feel for what's included before signing up, buying past boxes is a great way to get started. If you’d like get the subscription experience without having to commit to a regular subscription you can purchase a certain number of AdaBoxes for yourself or a friend as a gift! Simply click ‘Get Started' then ‘Give' and follow the instructions! After the gift subscription has ended you will have the option to continue to receive AdaBoxes by making your gift subscription a regular, recurring subscription.
Payments for regular subscriptions are authorized when the shipment is in the preparation stage (about 2 weeks before shipment). The billing charge is completed when the order ships. We’ll send out an email letting you know when your AdaBox has shipped. Gift subscriptions are billed immediately when the order is placed.
Will my subscription be renewed automatically?
Your subscription will remain active as long as your credit card information is up to date! You can cancel at anytime by logging into your account and clicking "Subscriptions" then the "Manage your AdaBox Subscription" button for your AdaBox. If your order is already in the preparation or shipment phase, the cancellation will go into effect for to the next round of AdaBox.
Can I change my quarterly billing or shipping date?
We are not able to modify the billing or shipping dates for your AdaBox.
Shipping and Tracking
You'll receive an email notification as soon as your box is shipped with a UPS or DHL tracking number that you can use to track your package.
Do you ship AdaBox internationally?
AdaBox is available in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, the UK, France and Germany.
What shipping method do you use?
We ship AdaBoxes using UPS Ground shipping to all customers in the United States. UPS Ground shipping is insured and tracked. Delivery time is not guaranteed but is almost always under 6 days. AdaBoxes shipping to customers in Alaska, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii also ship via UPS Ground and are charged an additional $5 fee. AdaBoxes shipping to customers in Canada ship via DHL Express for a $10 fee. AdaBoxes shipping to available locations in Europe ship also ship via DHL Express for a $30 fee.
Do you ship to freight forwarders, PO Boxes, mailbox stores, or hotels?
Due to fraud attempts as well as a high number of lost/stolen packages, we do not ship to hotels, freight forwarders, PO Boxes, or mailbox stores at this time. At this time, we also do not ship to APO/FPO addresses.
Can I change the shipping method so I can get my box faster?
Our shipping system is automated so we are not able to change the shipping method on your order.
What if my package is lost or the tracking shows that it is delivered but I don't have it?

Can I change the delivery address on my order even though it has shipped already?
UPS does offer a re-direct service for some packages but there is usually a fee. Contact us here
to see if you are eligible for an address change on your package. DHL does not offer a re-direct service at this time.
Where can I get it shipped?
We currently ship to most addresses in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, the UK, France, and Germany. We are not able to ship to hotels, freight forwarders, P.O. Boxes, or mailbox stores. At this time, we do not ship to APO/FPO addresses.
What is the deadline for changing my delivery address before the box ships?

right away. If your order is returned to us, please reach out to us and we'll ship it out to you again. Please contact us within 90 days from when the order was originaly shipped. After a 90 day period, we will not be able to ship out your missing box again.
I don't use certain types of products. Can I opt out?
No, AdaBox is a discovery service that aims to educate and inspire folks to use different types of products and learn different skills. Experimentation is part of the fun!
No, we are only able to offer the boxes as they are designed each quarter.
How can I view my box history?
Once you are signed in to your Adafruit account you'll be able to view your order history including all the boxes that you have received.
Can I add other products to my box order?
We are not able to include other products with your AdaBox.

How do I use my AdaBox discount code?
Your AdaBox discount code will be linked to the account your AdaBox was purchased through. Available codes can be located in the "Manage Gift Certificates" tab of your account profile. Next time you place an order please use a code listed in your account to receive 10% off your order from adafruit.com, excluding gift certificates and software.
Do I need to have the first AdaBox to use future AdaBoxes?
Nope! Each AdaBox is standalone.
Are the items in the preview going to be in AdaBox?
Maybe some of them but definitely not all of them! The contents of each AdaBox are a mystery so we cannot guarantee that the products in the AdaBox preview video will be included.
What is your cancellation policy?
AdaBox subscriptions can be canceled at any time. If your order has already been authorized for payment, which occurs about two weeks before shipment, the cancellation will go into effect after the shipment of that order.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel at any time by logging into your account and clicking "Subscriptions”. From there click "Manage your AdaBox Subscription" by the subscription you’d like to cancel.
Can I place my subscription on hold?
We cannot place subscriptions on hold. If you would like to cancel your subscription you can do that and sign up again when you are ready for more boxes!
How do I purchase boxes as a gift?
To purchase a certain number of AdaBoxes as a gift, click ‘Get Started' then ‘Give' and follow the instructions!
What happens when the gift recipient has received all of their AdaBoxes?
The boxes stop automatically coming. If the gift recipient would like to continue to receive the boxes they will have the option to turn the gift subscription into a regular, recurring subscription by logging into the Adafruit account the subscription is linked to and clicking “Subscriptions”, “Manage your AdaBox subscription”.
Can I cancel an AdaBox gift?
Because payment is processed up front, we are not able to cancel a gift of AdaBoxes once the order has been placed.
How do I keep the gift subscriptions going?
You can make another purchase for the amount of boxes you would like to give. You can also encourage the giftee to sign up for a subscription themselves or to turn the gift subscription into a regular, recurring subscription by logging into the Adafruit account the subscription is linked to and clicking “Subscriptions”, “Manage your AdaBox subscription”.
How do I know if the gift subscription arrived to the giftee?
There will be a link to the UPS or DHL tracking page for your gift in the Adafruit account associated with the gift subscription.
I want to give the box in person as a gift - how do I do that?
If you would like to give the box in person you can order it to be delivered to yourself and hand it off to whomever you would like.
I can't get my item to work! What should I do?
Our colleagues in the engineering and technical support forums will assist you right away. They are also able to authorize replacements if necessary. Please create a post in the appropriate forum here: http://www.adafruit.com/forums/
Here are some tips to help you place your support post:
- Tell us what product you are asking about, your Adafruit order number, and when you purchased the item.
- Post clear photos, focused, and detailed pictures of the front and back of the boards, as well as any connections to the board.
