Machine Line Inventory Specialist

Adafruit is currently seeking to add a Machine / Production Inventory Specialist to our team. This is a full-time position, on site, at our Adafruit New York location.
The primary responsibilities of this position are the upkeep of Adafruit's production component library. Day to day tasks include: putting together component kits for upcoming work orders, returning and keeping inventory in the correct location, making sure the component library documentation is up to date, staying on top of stock discrepancies, etc
Adafruit Industries LLC was founded in 2005 by MIT engineer Limor "Ladyada" Fried. Her goal was to create the best place online for learning electronics and making the best designed products for makers of all ages and skill levels. Adafruit manufactures many of our own products right here in our NYC factory where we have approximately 80+ employees.

The ideal candidate should possess the following traits & skills:

  • Experience in inventory or factory work. Previous experience with an inventory management role is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to be on one's feet for a majority of the day and lift boxes weighing up to 50lbs
  • Strong organizational skills; able to juggle and prioritize multiple responsibilities and tasks within a given day.
  • Works well in groups; able to monitor inventory movement and communicate with our Storage department Leads, able to generate purchase orders and communicate with our Purchasing department.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills; able to maintain healthy and productive working relationships with coworkers, is a good listener, and collaborates willingly.
  • Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible, dependable, and able to work independently
  • Technical proficiency in office tools: able to understand and/or be trained to navigate Adafruit’s internal inventory management system, and communicate any issues with these tools to the Internal Development team and IT department. Proficient with Google Suite and Slack.
