open source medical devices
at Aaron Stutz (Anywhere)
I'm trying to rally a group of motivated doctors and engineers to help me build an open-source series of medical devices--an ultrasound machine, an EKG machine, a video laryngoscope, and a telemonitor. Ideally, these devices would be run from a common open source computer like a raspberry pi or beaglebone. The objective would be to create low-cost devices that would be affordable for medical teams in resource-limited areas of the world. Some of this technology already exists. I'm soliciting help from individuals worldwide in medicine and engineering communities to collaborate on this project. Interested individuals should email me and let me know their area of expertise, and how they would like to contribute to the project.
