Programmer for Porting Code from ATmega328 to NEC/Renesas

About this position You will be tasked with porting over the code of a specific embedded project to a Renesas (formerly NEC) 78K0R family 16-bit microcontroller. This position is temporary, with a slight possibility to become permanent, depending on market conditions.
We’re a small but rapidly-growing internet company based in Louisville KY. We’re expanding our business, our office, and our product lines. This is an on-site position. Please, NO THIRD PARTIES, RECRUITERS, or OFF-SHORE COMPANIES.
We’re casual and you can wear what you want—most of us wear jeans, etc. every day.
The position is full-time 9-5 m-f.
We have a cool, loft-style 7000 square foot office in the Butchertown/Highlands area. We have a laid-back staff which likes to have fun. That said, we work hard, resulting in rapid growth not normally seen during these difficult economic times.
The ideal candidate would possess technical education, but relevant experience is required.
Atmel AVR or NEC/Renesas 78K0R family chips
Advanced data structures usage on microcontrollers
Minimizing microcontroller program size and power consumption
Compressing large repetitive data to fit on small microcontroller flash/EEPROM
Interrupts, watchdog timers,
SVN Source Code Management
Ability to organize and document code in a concise, understandable manner
Great team communication and love of technical challenges
Self-education when strange problems using unfamiliar technology need to be solved
Programmed code taking a product from inception through full production
Porting code from one platform to another
Several advanced projects with embedded systems

RISC Processor programming (RISC II preferred
Automotive digital electronics design/troubleshooting
Serial protocols reverse engineering
Bluetooth stack implementation
NRZ binary line codes
CAD drafting (AutoCAD/Google Sketchup)
ICC IDE/C Compiler
Clean-room reverse engineering of microchips (Chinese wall style)
Published academic papers on relevant subjects
What you’ll be doing
Taking code written in ICC AVR C for the Atmel ATMEGA328, and porting it to run on the Renesas UPD78F1002GA-HAA-AX.
