Berea College announces a tenure-track position in the Technology and Applied Design Program, to begin Fall Term 2013. A strong background in the designing, planning and fabrication process using traditional and computer-controlled tools in an artisan, construction, or manufacturing context is required. Experience in CAD/CAM and rapid prototyping (turning, milling, 3D printing, or other) is also essential. The successful candidate must also have deep interest in providing a transformative context for student learning using hands-on integrated labs as well as in helping students understand how research and theory inform every stage of production from design to implementation. Master’s or higher degree in technology, technology/engineering education, engineering, or a related field required with earned doctorate or other appropriate terminal degree required prior to tenure consideration.
