Job Description
littleBits is looking for a super talented and energetic Community Manager to join the team. You have to have a lot of energy, wit and social skills and understand the littleBits mission and brand very well. You also have to be a geek at heart, and have lots of geekiness to show for yourself. Tasks include managing the online community including forums, community platform, all things social media, newsletter and dreamBits. Tasks also include answering email, customer support, blogging and edits to the website.
Tasks
- Communicate with and get to know the littleBits community very well
- Share our projects, events and workshops with the world
- Understand littleBits at a deep level and help community through forums, email and in person communication
- Help the community to create their own littleBits events and workshops
- Write blog posts on littleBits website, newsletters, communications materials, and material for social media channels
- Edit contents of website including new workshops, events, product launches
- Create, manage and grow the company’s presence through Twitter, Facebook, littleBits forum and other strategically relevant online outlets
- Write weekly community notes summarizing all events during week
- Creatively and proactively assist customers.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for inbound requests
- Identify and analyze issues, patterns and trends in customer requests & product performance
- Transfer the information to the appropriate team members so that they can respond accordingly
- Proactively escalate issues, observations, opportunities, and insights to the littleBits team
Requirements
- 3+ years experience doing Community management
- Great aesthetic sense and understanding of the littleBits playful brand
- Highly personable and able to work in teams
- Ability to foster an online and offline community
- Sense of humor, strong communication skills
- Excellent at short messaging, promotion and microblogging
Technical
- Technical background such as an engineer, developer, hacker, coder, tinkerer, hands on designer or other
- Very proficient in Adobe Creative Suite specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign
- Proficient in HTML/CSS
- Proficient in developing/tracking metrics for online activity, page views, community activity
- Proficient in FTP/server access
- Excellent at Twitter/Facebook/Blogging/Tumblering and all things internet
- Proficiency in Final Cut pro strongly desired
- Photography and Filming skills strongly desired
- Proficient in using salesforce
Employment details
- Position is full-time
- Position is in the West Village, Manhattan, New York
- Salary commensurate with experience
