TA for a Hands On Engineering Program

BlueStamp Engineering (www.BlueStampEngineering.com) is a summer program in NYC for high school students to complete real world engineering projects. The program focuses on the students finding projects to build and then having them learn by going through the entire process of making and documenting the devices. Projects are of a wide degree of difficulty, starting with electronics kits and leading to customized designs.
BlueStamp is looking for a motivated, kind, and technical person to fill the part-time paid role of Teaching Assistant for the Summer 2011 session.
TA Position Responsibilities:
-Support the instructor in teaching a class of approximately 12 high school students.
-Help the students build their prototypes when they have questions or problems
Candidate Requirements:
-Experience teaching/leading students (e.g. camps, day care, TA, providing lessons, etc...)
-Experience in building, engineering, or tinkering, be it in school, work, or for a hobby
-A desire to share the love of building things with high school students
-A knowledge of electronics, measurement equipment, CAD, and other engineering development tools
-Excellent communication skills
Program logistics:
-Meeting Monday-Friday for 6 weeks from June 27th to August 5th for four hours per day.
-Student-to-staff ratio of approximately 5:1.
