Adafruit micro WIFI dongle keeps crashing my Pi

Just got one of these dongles in the mail the other day, and it causes my PI to lockup and corrupt its memory card more often than not. I am running the PI off of the Adafruit 5.25V USB power supply and only have the HDMI and a standard USB keyboard hooked up. I'm am running Occidentalis. Any idea where I start with troubleshooting this? I have tried it on a second SD card with similar results so I think we can rule that out.

Try connecting the dongle through a powered hub. The Pi generally cannot provide enough power to run a wifi dongle, HDMI, and a keyboard.
