Linking 2 x xoxbox ?

Postby insectred » Fri Jul 20, 2012 6:47 am

Is it possible to link 2 xoxboxs ? which connection is best to use ?
I want to be able to use one as my master(Which will be syncd by midi from a laptop)
And then i would want the second one to be slave, which will be triggered exactly at the same start/stop times, but will have different patterns programmed within.
Thx for any help...

you can use the dinsync output from the first x0x to sync the second x0x
or plug the same midi (from your PC) to both x0xes
We are here too: irc.freenode.net >>> #x0xb0x

As antto already mentioned, sending the midi-sync from your computer simultaniously to both x0xes with a multi-out midi adaptor (like this http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MIDISPORT2x2.html) or a midi thru splitter (I got this one: http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/utilities/m-thru-5.shtml... works perfectly for me) will most likely get the best results. What I had done in the past was chaining things up like "computer => x0x 1 midi in => x0x 1 midi thru => x0x 2 midi in". This basically works but with increasing chain length you'll get serious sync issues. Chaining up 5 or more devices this way got me timing problems as well has hanging notes.
