can only supply 140mA
Wow, didn't know it was so low. i think the RF output of the dongle is a max of +17 dbm, or 50 mW, while the Belkin is at least 100 mW. And it draws about 200 mA. I'm sure the little dongle draws at least half. I'm using your 5.25 volt 1 amp PS and it's a bit warm.
I also notice the voltage at TP1 to TP2 is 4.85 volts while the radio is working. I thought it should be closer to 5.0 volts, being the output is supposed to be 5.25 volts to compensate to cable length and wire size. I'm going to try a shorter cable and check it again. You know, someone should make a USB to micro USB "power cable" with two #20 guage wires.
With 25" cable, TP1/TP2 = 4.88 volts (if thicker looking cable, it might reach 4.90 volts)
With 72" cable , TP1/TP2 = 4.85 volts (thicker looking cable)
Using 25" cable with dongle and SD removed, i see 5.16 volts. With SD card in, I see 4.97 volts. With little dongle and SD card in, I see 4.88 volts.
So, I don't think cable length is main importance. it seems the PS is not very well regulated. I wonder what it would put out at the rated 1 amp? Not 5 volts output for sure!
All this is FYI, not a complaint.
