Can you post a photo showing the problem? Can you try a different SD card?

the tabs on the side of the SD slot are broken and the SD card will not stay in. So, I guess I could try a different card, but it would fall out too.

Only part of the picture came through, but I can see that one side of the slot is broken. How did this damage occur?

The Pi won't boot and that's when i noticed it.

Judging from the breakage I can see, it looks like the SD card caught on something and was snapped downwards out of the slot. This appears to be accidental damage and not a manufacturing defect, and so would not be covered by warranty.

Hmmm... Can you re-size your picture to make it a bit smaller? Seems like the original is too big.
