LCD Backpack i2c for Pi?

Any hints/tips/pointers on getting the LCD Backpack to work with a Pi so that an LCD can be run using only two pins? Is this something where a whole library needs to be written (beyond my capabilities) or is there a way to pull something together using existing info, python, etc?

Essentially, a library has to be written - its not going to be easy unless you're very comfortable with writing python and i2c code

We have a massive list of libraries to port - its on the list but sadly there is no ETA as to when we'll get to them!
