The DUE supplies 5V on the usual header pin, but will only tolerate 3.3V levels coming back from a shield.
Is there a tidy table somewhere of shield characteristics, showing which pins they use and what levels they drive them at? Or even which boards they are hardware and software compatible with?
I don't want to fry my DUE by accidentally plugging in a shield that returns too high a voltage. I solved part of the problem by looking closely at the one shield I wanted to use immediately
