NEW PRODUCT – Waterproof DC Power Cable Set – 5.5/2.1mm. Outdoor enthusiasts rejoice! We now have standard 5.5/2.1mm DC power cable sets in a waterproof variety. These cable sets are ideal for projects that must weather the weather: dust, water, rain, snow, tornado (not volcano proof!). They are a little bulkier than normal DC jacks because of the o-ring and removable over-screw. The o-ring is what makes the waterproof seal, and the over-screw keeps the two halves connected solidly
Comes as a set of two cables – one plug and one jack. The total length of the connected cables is 16″ (40cm). The wires are color coded – red is center, black is ring – to match the most common center-positive polarity.
Each half has a 7″ long cable (not including the connector part)

NEW PRODUCT – Power Distribution Bus – 7 x 6mm diameter solid brass. Imagine terminal blocks that are cut out of one solid piece of brass, designed to distribute power. Well, that’s what we have here! These machined bus bars are for when you want to distribute power through a project, we think they are ideal for robots and LED pixel grids where you have tons of current and a lot of loose wiring to control
Each bus has 7 holes bored out of a chunk of brass. There are screws that can cinch down any number of wires. Since its meant for power distribution, the wires should be 20 AWG or larger (thinner wires will slip out). You can use any larger wire, the holes are 6mm diameter! We don’t have exact specifications for current carrying ability but we imagine they are good for 10A as its just a chunk of metal
A nice touch on these is the plastic covering which provides a little isolation from the outside world, and mounting flanges…
Inside the plastic tube is a gold plated slip ring for 6 wires. There are six color coded wire sets made of 26 AWG and no matter how you twist the assembly, they will remain in continuity. Each of the wire sets can carry up to 2A at up to 240VAC or 240VDC. There’s a 44mm (1.7″) diameter flange with mounting holes to make it easy to attach or you can cut it off with a hacksaw and drill/machine as you wish it seems to just be ABS plastic. Rated to rotate up to 300 RPM (but you can probably go faster if you don’t mind a reduced life and/or noise).
NEW PRODUCT – HDMI Cable – 1 meter. We’ll have some items in the store soon that need HDMI cables, so here’s one we like! Connect two HDMI devices together with this basic HDMI cable. It has nice molded grips for easy installation, and is 1 meter long (about 3 feet).
NEW PRODUCT – USB cable – A/MicroB [3ft] – This here is your standard A to micro-B USB cable, for USB 1.1 or 2.0. Perfect for connecting a PC to your NETduino (among other things). Approximately 3 feet / 1 meter long.

This cable can be used to connect to the INPUT port of our LPD8806 digital addressable LED strip (so that you can easily plug it into your Arduino or similar. It can be used to connect to the OUTPUT port of our WS2801 LED Pixels so that you can connect another strand to the output, or perhaps apply power to the ‘output’ end.
NEW PRODUCT – 4-pin AT/ATX/IDE power cable. For big projects, with big power needs, an AT or ATX power supply is a handy place to grab 5V or 12VDC. Only problem is that these supplies have connectors that only plug into motherboards or hard drives. That’s where this cable comes in. It has a matching 4-pin molex connector to the hard drive/CD-ROM power cables that come out of a power supply so you can use this to grab 5V or 12V. Heck, you can even use this cable while your computer is powered, say to decorate your hard drive with LEDs or VFD/LCD displays, etc.
Note that in some older computer power supplies, the 12V supply is ‘unstable’ unless there’s a lot of current draw on the 5V line. In these cases, if you need to use the 12V line without also loading the 5V line, you can solder a 10 ohm 10 Watt power resistor between ground and 5V to load it enough to stabilize the 12V line.
NEW PRODUCT – IC hook set (9 pcs). When alligator clips and even scope probes are too large, IC hooks come to the rescue! These fine clips are very nice, and come in a set of 9 colors (black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray). They provide a nice strong grip on SOICs, TQFPs, anything with 0.6mm pin pitch or larger. The hook is made of strong gold-plated ‘piano wire’, and there are angle connectors so that you can slip these onto your Saleae Logic probe cable (to replace the all-black ones) or any 0.1″ socket jumper cables. These are a little more expensive than low-cost hooks but we’ve compared them and found that these work much better at gripping small pins
You can also cut it half to make two barrel cables (one plug and one jack). This will allow you to connect a classic ‘wall wart’ to a breadboard or PCB without having to solder in a bulky power jack. Or you can use the plug half to connect some batteries to something with a 2.1mm jack.
UPDATED PRODUCT – Premium Female/Female Jumper Wires – 40 x 6″. Handy for making wire harnesses or jumpering between headers on PCB’s. These premium jumper wires are a little over 6″ (150mm) long and come in a ‘strip’ of 40 (4 pieces of each of ten colors). They have 0.1″ sockets on either end and fit cleanly next to each other on standard-pitch 0.1″ (2.54mm) header. We recenlty updated these so they are in a ‘ribbon strip’ instead of individual wires. You can always pull the ribbon wires off to make individual jumpers, or keep them together to make neatly organized wire harnesses.
