NEW PRODUCT – IC hook set (9 pcs). When alligator clips and even scope probes are too large, IC hooks come to the rescue! These fine clips are very nice, and come in a set of 9 colors (black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray). They provide a nice strong grip on SOICs, TQFPs, anything with 0.6mm pin pitch or larger. The hook is made of strong gold-plated ‘piano wire’, and there are angle connectors so that you can slip these onto your Saleae Logic probe cable (to replace the all-black ones) or any 0.1″ socket jumper cables. These are a little more expensive than low-cost hooks but we’ve compared them and found that these work much better at gripping small pins
You can also cut it half to make two barrel cables (one plug and one jack). This will allow you to connect a classic ‘wall wart’ to a breadboard or PCB without having to solder in a bulky power jack. Or you can use the plug half to connect some batteries to something with a 2.1mm jack.
UPDATED PRODUCT – Premium Female/Female Jumper Wires – 40 x 6″. Handy for making wire harnesses or jumpering between headers on PCB’s. These premium jumper wires are a little over 6″ (150mm) long and come in a ‘strip’ of 40 (4 pieces of each of ten colors). They have 0.1″ sockets on either end and fit cleanly next to each other on standard-pitch 0.1″ (2.54mm) header. We recenlty updated these so they are in a ‘ribbon strip’ instead of individual wires. You can always pull the ribbon wires off to make individual jumpers, or keep them together to make neatly organized wire harnesses.
ON SALE – Premium Female/Female Jumper Wires. Handy for making wire harnesses or jumpering between headers on PCB’s. These premium jumper wires are a little over 6″ (150mm) long and come in a 25 pack of 5 colors – Red, Yellow, White, Blue and Black. They have 0.1″ sockets on either end and fit cleanly next to each other on standard-pitch 0.1″ (2.54mm) header.

NEW PRODUCT – 6-pin Socket/Socket IDC cable. Connect this to that with an IDC cable! This cable has 6 pins (2×3) in 0.1″x0.1″ spacing. Often used for programming AVRs. 6″ long with two sockets crimped onto either side, they’re quite sturdy!
NEW PRODUCT – 10-pin Socket/Socket IDC cable. Connect this to that with an IDC cable! This cable has 10 pins (2×5) in 0.1″x0.1″ spacing. Often used for programming AVRs. 6″ long with two sockets crimped onto either side, they’re quite sturdy!
NEW PRODUCT: Alligator Clip Test Lead (set of 10) – Connect this to that without soldering using these handy alligator clip test leads. 20″ cables with alligator clip on each end, color coded. You get 10 pieces in 5 colors. Strong and grippy, these always come in handy! We often use these in conjunction with a multimeter so we dont have to hold the probes in place.
10 piece set, Color Coded vinyl covered alligator clips.
Contains two of each: Black, red, white, green, and yellow.
Perfect for bread-boarding, free wiring, etc. This spool of solid-core wire is easy to solder to. When bent it keeps its shape pretty well. We like to have a few spools of this stuff around. We suggest picking up wire strippers to match. Wire gauge is 22 AWG which we’ve found is the best all-around gauge, it works best with breadboards and perfboards but also fits in terminal blocks nicely
Premium Female/Female Jumper Wires – 25 x 6ID: 266 – $6.00 Handy for making wire harnesses or jumpering between headers on PCB’s. You get 25 for $6 *this* is one of the best deals online!

Back in stock! This is a FTDI FT232RL usb/serial chip embedded in a cable that has a 6-pin socket at the end. These are perfect for use with a Boarduino, Meggy’s, or other Arduino clones, and Fuzeboxen. Useful whenever you want to communicate with a TTL serial device, such as an XPort, GPS, XBee or SIM module through a breakout board.
The version we have is the 5.0V (we used to carry the 3.3V) the only difference is that the 5.0V cable sends data signals at 5.0V levels instead of 3V The power line provides 5V. We suggest this for any product that needs FTDI cables in the shop except for YBox2. We don’t suggest using them with 3v microcontrollers or devices unless there is a level shifter to protect it (such as the XBee adapter which is protected).

You asked for them, now they’re here! The breadboarding wire bundle that we include in the Arduino starter pack are now available seperately! The breadboarding wire bundle is a pack of 75 flexible stranded core wires with stiff ends molded on in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, brown, black and white. These are a major improvement over the “box of bent wires” that are sometimes sold with breadboards, and faster than stripping your own solid core wires. Makes breadboarding super fast. Available now in the Adafruit store.
Big news! The Arduino starter pack kits from Adafruit have new wires included! These wires are an improvement from the previously included 2 feet of solid core wire. The new wires are flexible stranded core, come in 7 colors and various lengths. The ends have molded tips so they are easy to grip and strong points – perfect for breadboarding and other jumpering needs. We include a bundle of 75 wires with 50 short (100mm/6″), 5 medium, 5 long and 5 xtra long jumpers. Pick up an Arduino starter pack kit today!
