Once Upon a Time Rumplestiltskin Costume

I showcased one Once Upon a Time costume this week, and I figured it was time to look at another villain of the series: Rumplestiltskin. Though his Storybrooke alias Mr. Gold has a neat and tidy appearance, Rumple has a wilder look in the Enchanted Forest. He’s been affected by becoming the Dark One and wielding magic to gain power. Carl Daniels, a.k.a. Red Dragon Lord on DeviantArt, made a spot on Rumplestiltskin costume for Dragon Con last year. It looks like he walked right out of the fairy tale television series, even considering he used different colors in his take on the costume.

Here’s what he had to say about the crafting of the ensemble:

The vest and laced boot toppers are made from croc embossed uphostery leather. The Croc sleeves and mantle are made from deep croc embossed cowhide. The boots are redyed alligator with pilgrim straps sewn on . I have also made the dark ones dagger, a contract and ostrich quill pen to accompany the ensemble. It’s fairly screen accurate except I changed the color to my signature red and black motif.

I can’t imagine how long it took to stitch that many leather pieces together.

A closer look at the all important contract and the Dark One’s dagger:
