A bandmate of mine had bought an AirTurn page turner. He showed me how cool it was to be in the middle of a gig with the lyrics in front of you and be able to stomp on a little wireless box and change the lyrics on an iPad Mini attached to the stand. I said, I’ve gotta have one. After thinking about it for a minute and knowing some of the capabilities of the Adafruit Bluefruit EZKey, I decided to grab one and make one up.
I used the ShopBot at TechShop Pittsburgh to create the housing and wired up two buttons for turning pages backwards and forwards and another two. One was for the home button, and one to switch to the on screen keyboard in iOS. Project worked out great and I use it from time to time when I don’t know all the words to a song or I’m practicing. Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
