50 Camera Sousveillance Suit Got Your Back #WearableWednesday

CamSuit

I know some of my biking friends have been talking about riding around with Go-Pros strapped on so they can be preventative with attacks and accidents. Sad that we have to contemplate these things nowadays, but this Aposematic Jacket seen on Mashable certainly seems to answer that issue of surveillance. Armed with a Raspberry Pi 360 web connected view, it can pretty much spot anything.

The jacket is the brainstorm of artists Shin Seung Back and Kim Yong Hun of South Korea. They had some help with tailoring from Jehee Sheen, who used to design for Armani. Although I prefer the cut of a single breasted suit, I do think a double breasted would have been fun for the look of the cameras. Check out the video, which gives a quick hint to the biomimicry going on here.

So, do you want to be spied on or do want to be the spy? These are the questions that the jacket poses. Of course, like any security system, only the owner knows whether it is turned on. Use that to your advantage as you design your spy wearables. You may want to take a look at our learning guide Wireless Security Camera with the Arduino Yun. It’s a good place to start, and you can have some fun when unwanted visitors come to your door.
