Geo Fashion for Math Lovers #WearableWednesday

Seeing angles come together in this way reminds me of the time I first discovered “origami pleats” in Leon Max clothing. I was blown away, as I had been brainwashed by plain seams and gathered edges.  So, it’s no surprise that this collection, seen on Redesign Revolution is getting its share of geek love. It was designed by 13&9, which is a combination of the architects INNOCAD and product and fashion designer Anastasia Su. The handbags are especially classy and really make use of hexagons with folds. Get ready for precision and practicality.

Their jewelry reflects the same design strategy, with simple shapes and colorful layering.

Inspired by nature and its “innate ability to create understated complexity,” ellipse and hexagon shapes – meant to symbolize the permanence of stone and functionality of the honeycomb – comprise the look of the collection.

Keeping in line with the “permanence of stone”, the jewelry is made with Corian — the popular material used in counter-tops.

Finally, for those that want to see the world through clever angles, there are sunglasses. The lens glass is finished by hand, adding to the craftsmanship. Although the larger frames provide plenty of coverage from the sun, they do have a retro New Wave feel. Fashion is a constant cycle.

By now you have probably got your B-52s channel running and are considering warming up the 3D printer. Let me get  you started with your own angular fun with our LED 3D Printed Jewelry. You can go to your next con in style with stories of geometry.
