If you’re into cosplay, chances are good that you have more than one costume in progress at any given time. That lets you jump between projects when you get bored or while you’re waiting for glue to dry. Cosplayer Jessica LG seems to have at least two costumes in the works in the weeks before conventions, and this Wasp costume was on the list for Comic-Con last year. She came up with her own design for the character and made the bodysuit, stinger, armor, wings – everything! The bodysuit was made from cotton and wet-look spandex, and she used a cheap plastic mannequin for the chest part of the armor and made the rest from Worbla.
The wing design is my favorite part of the costume. She printed a wing design and used 14 and 16 gauge wire and traced the design. She welded the joints to keep the wires in place. After they were painted, she glued iridescent cellophane to both sides.
