Whether you’re a novice or pro coder, NYC Resistor has a class for you this weekend!
Programming Neopixels for Noncoders
Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (EDT)
Want to program patterns into LEDs but not sure where to start?
Don’t know how to program but would like a gentle introduction to
editing patterns? In this class you’ll get a Flora controller
board, a NeoPixel LED ring, and a set of code “recipes” to load
onto the pixels. We’ll teach basic coding principles as we show
you what parts of the programs you can edit to change colors, speed,
and other behaviors of patterns.
Don’t forget your laptop.
Taught by NYC Resistor Holly Hudson
Programming Neopixels for Experienced Coders
Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (EDT)
If you are already comfortable programming Arduinos or other systems,
then this is the class for you. We’ll cover a few different
interfaces to the WS2812 “NeoPixels”, writing code for drawing
patterns on strips, using libraries for drawing images and text on
matrices, and we’ll cover techniques for color and luma correction.
We’ll also spend some time on how to add sensors to make your
Bring your laptop and ideas for fun projects.
