In Shrek: Forever After, Princess Fiona dons a warrior outfit as she leads the ogre resistance. Cosplayer Sweets4aSweet brought the costume out of animation and into real life and did an amazing job. She made everything from scratch and added a twist to the armor. She used 6mm craft foam but also added muslin to make it sturdier:
I started out with 6mm craft foam and cut out the rough shape I wanted. Then I used an embossing heat gun to shape it and applied Modge Podge and muslin to the back to strengthen it.
She used Crayola Model Magic to make the spikes on the armor and the studs used to be purse feet. She gave the armor its metallic look by painting it with black spray paint and adding silver leaf with Rub n Buff.
The axe was carved from foam, smoothed into shape, and covered in rubber coating – specifically five cans of Rust-Oleum LeakSeal Flexible Rubber Coating. To finish it, she used Krylon Make It Stone textured spray paint.
