Thermochromatic Cloth Clockface

Jaymes Dec shared a project-in-progress for the project demo night at ITP Camp 2014. He built a clock display using a set of laser cut number rollers (with bare-wire numbers for each position) and brought the numbers up to temperature by feeding power via springs rubbing against contacts along the side of the rollers as handy make-do brushes. Draped over the whole case was a piece of thermochromatic cloth — where the ghostly glowing numbers would shimmer into focus and then vanish.

I’m working on a clock that displays the time on cloth that was dyed with thermochromatic ink.
