Updated Tutorial: Cupcade NES Emulation! #piday #raspberrypi @Raspberry_Pi

NewImage

Cupcade beta-ers! We’ve uploaded a Cupcade image with NES emulation support (via FCEU) as well as a slightly older version of MAME (0.94) which is faster and can now play Gauntlet nicely. Many original arcade games were ported to the NES system so this gives you an even wider range of games. Check it out here!

As of the 5-13-2014 Cupcade disk image, bonus NES emulation is provided via FCE Ultra (aka fceu).

This only works on Cupcades with a landscape (horizontal) screen. It will not work on vertical screens at all, period. It’s just how the emulator is designed…unlike MAME, it doesn’t do video scaling and can’t handle the narrow display.

The good news is that its pixel-to-pixel scaled perfectly so the display looks really good!
