#3dprint long legs for Iris #drone #droneday

iris-legs

Mod Iris with these 3D printed longer legs for extra camera space or to stand out amongst tall grassy fields.

Thingiverse user Brendan22 shares these great long legs that make it easier to mount a GoPro camera under an IRIS.

iris-legs-3d

These legs give about 150mm clearance under the body (plenty for gimbal). Parts are separate to allow each object to be printed in the best orientation for strength. We recommend printing in ABS as PLA was too brittle and snapped upon landing!

iris-leg-snap0

The clips snap on to the frames by inserting the non chamfered edge first.
iris-leg-snap2
Align the nubs to the cut outs and slide legs in until they snap into place.

iris-screw
Use a screw to securely hold the leg to the frames.

You can get these files and other cool mods on his profile page.

Welcome to drone day on the Adafruit blog. Every Monday we deliver the latest news, products and more from the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), quadcopter and drone communities. Drones can be used for video & photography (dronies), civil applications, policing, farming, firefighting, military and non-military security work, such as surveillance of pipelines. Previous posts can be found via the #drone tag and our drone / UAV categories.
