Using the Adafruit 2.8″ TFT Touch Shield with an Intel Galileo

Daniel wrote in to share that he got Intel Galileo board working with the Adafruit 2.8″ TFT Touch Shield for Arduino.

I just wanted to bring to your attention the ability to use your TFT touchscreen for Arduino (#1651) with the Intel Galileo as a Linux framebuffer. I did a bunch of work to make this possible at: https://communities.intel.com/message/224873#224873. The big difficulty with this is the Galileo’s limited CPU IO. I had to do a bunch of wire soldering and driver changes to re-route the DC and CS pins. Adding the kinds of pads you have for the other Arduinos, except to re-route the pins for Galileo would really help.

You can pick up an Intel Galileo board here, and the Adafruit 2.8″ TFT Touch Shield for Arduino v2 here!
