#3DxRobotics – Fantastic LoFi “Minion” Robots, “quite a lot of behavior from very little servo” #3DThursday #3DPrinting

Another excellent treat from the mind of Michael Curry that I couldn’t resist sharing. These fantastic lofi “Minion” Robots unpack “quite a lot of behavior from very little servo” (my favorite overheard comment about this design). While many hobby robotics projects rely on a complex system of servos and machine controls, Michael found a way to get behavior using an extremely minimalist setup to produce the hilarious awkward stumble that suits these characters so well. And watch out for Big Sister, the more evolved (and deadly) member of the Minion family!

Created while at MakerBot, shared on Thingiverse, launched at Kansas City Maker Faire 2012!

Every budding Mad Scientist needs a Minion.

Want to laser your name into the moon? Minion will help. Looking for a volunteer to test your new shrink ray? Minion can do that. Need a distraction while you escape? That’s Minion’s job.

Others may call you crazy, but Minion will always believe in you.
