Mark Miller shared his “Chipfuzer” 3D Metal Printer in the Adafrut Community:
I shut off the light for the build process but turn it on during removal.
The ring was made in real time as shown. As you will see at the end getting it off the build table requires a bit of chiseling and prying as it is fused to the table during printing. I may make removable platters for build tables. Also, it would help make clean up/out loose material from overfeeding. Loose metal flakes get all over inside the box, and I clean them up before starting a new print.
I am starting the rework on a new set of HV power supplies as I think I am exceeding the duty cycle for the current ones. Lots of stuff to still improve, but seeing how this entire project was sort of a accident to start with, it is getting predictable now, and I see some things that can be made SO much better. I am also going to add a safety discharge system, and an interlock to prevent shocks.
