Studio Moritz Waldemeyer took part in the Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition which made its London debut in the famous Brompton Road windows of Harrods.
Inspired by light and motion the installation uses thousands of LED lights to convey Moritz’ admiration of the clean aesthetic and linear purity of luxury automobiles. Taking inspiration from his passion in cars, Moritz has incorporated core elements of automobile design, paying homage to what he describes as the ‘forgotten beauty of a mechanical core’. The four lampshade forms revolve and intersect like gear wheels and are mounted on rotating tubes, which in turn are punctuated by three-dimensional lines.
