When Technology Fails – Percussive Maintenance

Yes, you’ve done it too, maybe not as dramatically or as intergalactically as some of these characters, but we’ve all had our moments.   2. As the “geek” in college (40 or so years ago) I was in charge of stage lighting and audio for a Woody Herman’s New Thundering Herd concert (Google is your friend for the kids). At that time most groups did not carry their own sound gear so we were using the college’s amplifier and speakers.
    In the middle of the concert the audio faded to nothing. I crawled out on stage under the risers and, using my calibrated fist, fixed the amp for the duration of the concert.
    Started a long and distinguished carrier of electronic and mechanical repair
