Tonight! Come Join the #3DThursday Pre-Maker Faire Happy Hour #3DPrinting

Tankard Text

Here’s a special treat that a large team of artists, designers, and engineers from the desktop 3D printing community have pulled together for this Thursday night — a friendly place to meet up in Brooklyn for those arriving into town (or here already) who will be taking part in any number of 3D printing related activities at Maker Faire this weekend!

I am a co-host, and (very generously 😉 ) offered the name of the event as a tribute to the many 3D-printing related activities that take place each #3dthursday (pronounced “three-dee-Thursday”) online and in hackerspaces across the world, not to mention a sizable number of the over 1,000 posts about 3D printing shared here to Adafruit’s blog since the beginning of the desktop 3D printing revolution. (Adafruit has been celebrating all of the exciting developments in this field, and we are thrilled to bring together so many talented individuals we have featured online to clink steins together and get to know each other!)

Thanks to Adafruit, MakerMedia, and a handful of individuals for pitching in free rounds of beer and treats for those who arrive to Die Koelner Bierhalle on the early side! Very generous, indeed!

And a special shout-out to co-host John Abella, “mayor of 3D Printer Village,” who has been coordinating what might now need to be renamed the “3D Printer Township“: which now consists of, by latest report, nine large tents worth of artists, designers, and engineers!

And thanks to co-host PrettySmallThings for the quick invitation artwork, featuring Zheng3’s SEEJ Tenpenny Tankard (a model we all thought was the perfect one to feature here).
