3D Printed Vacation Hacks #3DThursday #3DPrinting

MattStultz

Matt Stultz from 3DPPVD took his 3D printer with him to the beach this vacation — and has been finding opportunities to keep it busily working away while he and his wife relax:

So a few months ago my wife’s family decided that we should all go on a beach vacation together. After searching for a destination, a beach house on Topsail Island in North Carolina was selected. We packed up and headed down and of course, a 3D printer was on the way with us. Within the first two days, I was happy to have it with me.

I brought my new PrinterBot Simple with us. Its small form factor and simplicity (no pun intended) made it the perfect printer to bring along. I have had this printer for a while now and I really do love it….

Check out his post to learn about the pieces they have printed so far!

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!

The Adafruit Learning System has dozens of great tools to get you well on your way to creating incredible works of engineering, interactive art, and design with your 3D printer! If you’ve made a cool project that combines 3D printing and electronics, be sure to let us know, and we’ll feature it here!
