Interview with Steve Wozniak from KansasFest 2013

IMG_3682

I really enjoyed listening to this interview with Steve Wozniak, recorded at KansasFest 2013 by Mike Maginnis and Ken Gagne of the Open Apple Podcast.

I’ll say that this is a somewhat informal interview, but that’s not meant as a criticism. Some people have this endearing gift where you just love to hear them talk, and Steve Wozniak is one of those people (at least for me).

Wozniak’s unflappable enthusiasm carries things forward, and we learn little bits of Apple history along the way. At one point he mentions his early shyness, and how demoing his projects at the Homebrew Computer Club was the only time he felt comfortable talking to other people. Having seen more than a few shy people come out of their shell at MakerFaire, it reminds me how much engineering can provide a bonding opportunity — first, perhaps, between parents and children, and later with the wider world.

Good news for those of us who don’t like sports. :)
