Is the ARRL ready for the Second Century?.

Next year, the ARRL will mark the 100th anniversary of its founding with a year long celebration including a Centennial National Convention in Hartford, where it all began.  We are proud of what has been accomplished in the first century of the ARRL’s existence.  What’s in store for the second?

  1. Is amateur radio itself ready for the next century? While I still think its cool to talk half way around the world using a box in my basement and a copper wire strung between a few trees in the backyard …. I find few others that do. In the 70s the killer app was “auto patch” then came cellphones …. In the 80s “packet radio” and promises of a long distance radio based “network” had some steam till the internet took off …. What’s the killer app for the future???
