EE Bookshelf: Differential Signaling and it’s Design Requirements

Differential

If you have to work with high speed devices or signals (USB, many high end ADCs, etc.) chances are you’ll need to deal with differential signals.  Unlike single-ended signals, the layout requirements are quite different, and a lot more care needs to be taken when designing PCBs with differential traces.  There’s LOTS of literature out there on the topic (thankfully), but working on a new board with differential signals this week I found Differential Signaling and it’s Design Requirements from Speeding Edge to be a good general purpose overview, with some concrete but accessible explanations, tip and tricks.
