An audiovisual installation that uses credit cards to print a “glitch-receipt” when you enter your pin-code via vtol.tk:
After almost a half-century long history of existence of plastic cards with a magnet stripe, they have become a real symbol of automation and encryption of money resources and financial flows. At the same time, cards also became the object of phobias and fetishes of their owners, transforming into a sensitive body part responsible for welfare encrypted on a little magnet stripe and protected with a 4-digit numeric passcode. ‘Financial Risks’ installation is a project designed to present an ironical viewpoint on encoded wallets as a data input interface which invites to overcome fear of impbossility to control spread of confidential information for the sake of curiosity of interaction with an object of art. The most daring users after entering the pin code will receive an artefact printout from a little cash register printer with the screenshot of the result of their play with the instrument.
