Minimalist Resisto.rs Color Code Lookup

Resisto_rs

Here’s a charming, minimalist resistor color value lookup tool, Resisto.rs, from Joe Walnes:

I never have a resistor color chart handy when I need one. So I built a little web-app. Fast loading, simple, mobile friendly, and to the point.

  1. My version at
    http://techref.massmind.org/techref/resistors.asp
provides a more realistic representation of a resistor, and solves another common problem: You need a specific resistance to make a circuit work the way you want, but there is no real resistor of that value. Press a button, and the page finds all the combinations of available resistors in parallel which will provide your desired target resistance. And clicking on the values shows you what that resistor would look like. And… the page has a manafest, so if you bookmark it, it will be available when you are offline. Even on your smartphone. And it re-styles itself to look and act like an app.
