A while ago I backed the Solar Factory campaign on kickstarter, and I’ve been following the Solar Cells, Fuel Cells, & Batteries course from Stanford, so this article from Spectra-Physics really interested me when I came across it: Manufacturing c-Si Solar Cells with Lasers.  It’s a very accessible overview of some manufacturing options to produce solar cells, though it’s obviously still a growing field with a lot of new, interesting research going on.
