Uh oh, folks better buy the lapdock quick now that it’s on the Adafruit blog I must say it is crisp and beautiful and well worth my $50. My 3.5″ composite LCD is cute but doesn’t do the Pi’s GPU justice.
I built one a month+ ago, it works so well and the price and “making factor” fit well in the Pi ethos. I recommend this to anyone, just remember at least one of the adapters is eBay from China only.
I ordered a bunch of adapters from the original hackaday link, but I like yours better. where can I get them?
And… I have to confess that I haven’t found the lapdock for anywhere near $50. I bought mine on amazon for around $70.

The micro HDMI f-f coupler was eBay from China. The other adapters/cables are either from monoprice or what we stock here at Adafruit.

Great video, and the lapdock display is indeed beautiful!
A tip for those with “fresher” Raspberry Pi’s: if you don’t have the F1/F2 polyfuses, then no USB cable modifications are needed. You can just plug and play. Details of my setup here: http://www.element14.com/community/groups/raspberry-pi/blog/2012/09/08/raspberry-pi-laptop
