I love this! Thank you for showing it. My truck does not have a compass like my old one, and I have been toying with the idea of making my own rather than buying one. I like the idea of using the GPS to be able to collect more data than just heading. I will be looking into this build with great interest because of the small size and the low power consumption.

@ Jose – It actually does! I have not tested it for long periods of time, but have had it on with the lid closed, then opened after a few minutes (long enough to lose a signal) and it still has a signal! I think it’s due to Limor being picky about what Adafruit sells, and not selling anything short of the best stuff. Antenna is -165dBm tracking!! It really is a great little receiver.

You need Acrylic mintyboxes. Or polycarbonate, preferably with a waterproof option but where I can connect something securely through it.
Something that lets through neither RF nor light isn’t useful.
We need Faraday uncaged!
I’ve been scrambling for my similar project for my motorcycle – it has GPS and a few status LEDs.
