Here’s a suggestion. You should have left an empty hole at the case for GPIO pins. IDC ribbon cables can be used for breaking GPIO pins out.
They seem a little bit trapped inside the case
I think this is the first case I’ve seen that actually labels the connectors, looks good. By the way, have you tried running your Pi in the closed box and measuring the temperatures of the chips after a few hours of heavy load?
You haven’t left space to access the tongue on the RJ45 connector. So once the network is plugged in, you won’t be able to unplug.
@bryan – it’s clear so you can’t really see it that well, it works perfectly, we tested
Looks really nice. I can’t wait till I get my Pi, then I’ll definitely get this case.
What software do you use to design these lovely cases?
Hey, is it correct that I see no screws? If so, nice!
Its beautiful, and functional. Im looking forward to getting one when i get the shipment notification.
i agree with both JBeale and ihsan. You should make shur you dont need vent holes too keep it cool. and make a slot for GPIO ribbon cable.
IT looks Acrylic so people at home don’t have as efficient ways to cut it and make it look pretty, so adding those beforehand would be nice. Also make a second case for mounting a display (if you can find a good one)
This looks great, I agree with the others though you should really have a hole for bringing out the GPIO pins.
make 2 small holes on the top on either side, same length as the gpio connectore.
That way you got ventilation and a way to get a ribbon cable through…
Yep, I agree with the others above me… the GPIO outputs would be great.. another thing that could be useful are the holes to hang it on a wall/panel.
I wonder if it could be adapted easily to fit on a VESA mount (4x100mm).
Perhaps the GPIO slot could be a punch out kind of thing ? The space precut but with 2 bridges keeping it in place ? I’m not sure how much of a shatter danger that is in plexie tho..
the GPIO slot photo is now there.
So, I am one of the lucky few who have received their pi, when exactly can this case be ordered?
