  1. I was hoping to hear why you picked the Rigol over some of the other models in the price range? I recently got a entry-level Owon scope (SDS6062) with an 8″ VGA screen (which is HUGE compared to that Rigol).

So far, it has been great and the screen is a large part of that. I can’t compare the software (due to being inexperienced with oscilloscopes in general), but the spec sheet compares favorably with the DS1052E (and the $400+ SDS7102 is even closer).

I’m curious why the Rigol won out, in your opinion.

  2. hey tim! we think this scope has the best features for the price, it’s most hackable (many of our customers care about that!) and we’ll spend more time on the next show if you stop in and talk about it even more if you’d like! it took us MONTHS to decide on this one so there’s a lot to say for sure!

  3. This fellow has a good set of videos reviewing the Owon 7102:

He liked a lot of things about it but in the end he sent it back, and in comments he also generally recommends the Rigol 1052 after having looked at Rigol, Owon and Hantek scopes.

    Still, that screen…
