I never thought I’d stray from wanting to be a systems administrator. I wanted to be a computer scientist, but then I took the Electronics project in 4-H and bought your MiniPOV3 Kit. It was the first thing I had ever soldered and I picked the skill up quickly. Later I learned more about micro controllers whilst trying to program it and eventually, that project won me my first Grand Champion (basically best in the project area) I had ever gotten. After that the bug bit me. I built the TV-B-Gone twice, an FM radio transmitter, an RFID lock for my bedroom (one for my front door is in the works). That original kit is why I want to be an engineer, I took my high school’s EE program and soaked it up like a sponge. Now I want to double major in EE and Chemical Engineering. I just figured you should know, what you said is true. You are making the Makers, I now know exactly what I want to do, and I would never have had the resources if it hadn’t been for Make Magazine and Adafruit giving me the opportunity to learn about this.
