From the Adafruit google+ “mail bag”

Just a quick note related to my comment on the Adafruit Industries page, while I’m still thinking about it: A couple years ago I bought a TV-B-Gone, having never soldered in my life. I’ve built a dozen or so kits since then. I branched out to Arduinos, and learned the basics from your site. Soon I was toying with XBees, sending messages from one computer to another. Learning and having a blast. Even when I’d hit a stumbling point, because I know once I figured it out, I’d get a rush from the “ah ha!” moment…

In the past month, I’ve taken apart my both dishwasher and washing machines for repairs, and fixed both without a hitch. The confidence I gained from building Adafruit Industries kits probably saved me hundreds of dollars in labor costs, while enabling me to DO something…

Thank you. Thanks for giving me a fantastic starting point and for helping to instill the DIY mindset.
